The book is dedicated to the memory of what has become known as the Crimean War. The 150th anniversary of the start of it was commemorated in 2004. In particular, it relates the most famous field battle near Balaclava that took place on October 13(25) 1854; it is about the perpetuation of the memory of the warriors who did their soldiers' duty; and about the complicated destiny of the monuments and necropolises situated on Sevastopol land.
